Shin Hamada: HAMADA
‘Working mainly in portrait, documentary, and editorial photography.’
This documentary photobook records the year-long process of creating a single book, using photographer Shin Hamada’s profile as its starting point. The process itself becomes the content of the book. Hamada works across a wide range of media, including objects and video as well as photography. Through this book, his motivations and methods for making things are made visible in a self-referential way. This book is the second collaboration between Hamada and the design studio Tanuki, following ‘Rock, Paper, Wind’ (2020).
‘We hope this will be a useful tool that guides, encourages, and offers hints, so that people who truly want to create don’t have to give up.’
